Resource Advantages

Mineral Resources: more than 70 kinds of minerals, 186 mineral resources. Metallic minerals are iron, vanadium, titanium, tungsten, manganese, gold, molybdenum and so on. Non-metallic minerals are coal, natural gas, graphite, asbestos, muscovite, potassium feldspar, granite, marble and so on.


Agricultural Resources: obvious three-dimensional climate, adequate sunshine and rainfall. The soil is rich in selenium and zinc; the main economic corps are rice and corn and it is abound in tea, walnut, fungus, mushroom, bamboo fungus, bracken, gastrodin, eucommia and other special agricultural products. Especially, eucommia is of high quality and a large quantity; the planing area of eucommia in Wangcang accounts for 10% of planning area in China, up to 400,000mu, and Wangcang is named "Hometown of Eucommia in China".


Biological Resources: the county has 1.43 million mu of forest with the coverage rate of 53.98% and a living tree volume of 9.792 million m3. There are 4,940 species of plants, including 17 species of economic forest, 1,500 species of Chinese medicinal medicine (318 species can be purchased); among the 364 species Chinese medicinal medicine stipulated by the state, there are 198 species of medicinal herbs in Wangcang, and the annual storage capacity of traditional Chinese medicine is nearly 30,000t. More than 40,000 mu bases of  honeysuckle, gastrodia elata, adenophora stricta and so on have been developed. The county has 307 species of animals, 50 species of which (46 species of wild animals) are of development values.


Tourism Resources: Wangcang has a rich history and unique topography, forming colorful natural scenery, rich cultural landscapes and unique scientific exploration and expedition resources. The tourism resources include magnificent No. 1 Drum under the Heaven, Xihe Dinosaur Fossil Group with many varieties and a wide area, landscape corridor Qili Gorge, jade-like Luting Hot Spring, Mumen Military Meeting Site of great importance, and China's first Red Army City with dense sites. The county has 2 national AAAA tourist attractions and 1 national nature reserve.
